winter warmerThe seventh annual Winter Warmer Fest, a fundraiser for the Ohio Craft Brewers Association, will be held from 2 to 6 p.m. Feb. 23 at the FirstEnergy Powerhouse at Nautica in Cleveland.

The festival will feature 25 Ohio craft breweries and offer beer drinkers an opportunity to sample their winter ales, big brews and rare releases. Entertainment will be provided by blues artist Austin Walkin’ Cane.

A new feature this year will be an outdoor area highlighting cask-conditioned beers from 11 breweries.

“Just as other winter festivals do around the country, we thought it would be fun to incorporate an outdoor component that embraces Cleveland’s winter weather,” Willoughby Brewing Co. brewmaster Rick Seibt said in a prepared statement. “The cask showcase allows us brewers — who often have to stay focused on producing our mainstay beers — to be creative with small-batch beers that appeal to our fans.”

Advance tickets are $35 and include a souvenir glass, 20 taste tickets and a deli lunch. Designated driver tickets are available for $12 and include the lunch. Tickets may be purchased at www.ohiocraftbeer.org.

The event typically sells out. If tickets are available, they will be sold at the door for $40. All proceeds benefit the Ohio Craft Brewers Association.
